Deity Forms
I just wrote some stuff in answer to a question on a pagan message board I run on my site and I thought I would post it on here too. The question was about whether I believed in the traditional wiccan god and goddess.

So, what deity forms do you believe in or work with or theorise about the existance of?

I have two main deities I ... dunno what word to use, worship doesn't seem quite right, maybe follow... one male and one female. I primarily use the names Lugh and Brighid to identify them. I am open to them having multiple aspects or to there being more deities on their level but they are the two I work with on the whole. I have occasionally worked with the Morrigan and Cernunnos and am still working on my relationship with specific gods.

I also feel that there is a seperate neutral entity, mostly female, that represents the chaotic powers of the earth, it is less ... intellectual?... than the deities I mentioned before. An energy born of the earth and the life on it and in it, it is the weather and the fount of lifeforce. It just is.

I also believe there are spirits of varying kinds that fall in a spectrum between these two types of deity. Such as the entities that have previously been named as elf folk, faeries, nature spirits etc.

Current Mood: thoughtful
